In Pennsylvania, a recidivism study was conducted which encompassed all referrals for the first five years of Bethesda's operation.  Each youth from the day treatment program was tracked for two years after being involved in the program.  The results of that study revealed a 10.4% recidivism rate where one out of ten been re-referred.  It is important to note that they had to maintain a status where they were not referred back into the system for a period of two years.
